I met with Allison & Derek in Bodega and the weather was PERFECT! It’s rare we get such perfect weather out at the coast. I’m talking no wind, the sun was warm and not to mention hardly anyone on the beach! We got so lucky and definitely took full advantage of this day!
Allison & Derek met in a small town in Wisconsin where Allisons cousin was marrying Dereks family friend. After a year of long distance dating, Derek moved cross country to be with Allison (HOW SWEET!) The love to travel, be active (including be very willing to climb rocks during this session) and love to snowboard together during the winter.
Derek used the diamond from Allison’s grandmothers engagement ring. Prior to going on a snowboarding trip, they went to Sacramento for the night to stay with Allison’s best friend. That evening they went to old Sacramento to do dinner and walk around enjoying the Christmas decorations. They both love Christmas and considering it was the season to celebrate, they decided to take a few photos. Just as they were about to take a photo in front of the big tree, Derek got down on one knee and proposed. Allison says she had a hunch but was not expecting her entire family to be there watching!
